Remember how important recess was when you were a kid in school? It not only meant a time away from studying, it was also a time to relax, rejuvenate and re-energize. Like most adults striving to create a “recess” outside of work, the U.S. National Whitewater Center does just that. The USNWC provides an escape from your daily routine and allows you to spend some time outdoors. With more than two dozen activities, a restaurant, live music shows and events, USNWC is the perfect playground for both children and adults.

The USNWC offers more than 20 miles of scenic woodland trails, river views, challenging climbs and exciting descents for riders of all ages and skill levels. The trail system is shared with hikers and runners and its difficulty is graded by color. All riders are required to be equipped with a helmet and a mountain bike designed for steep single-track riding. Guests with personal bikes and helmets are welcome to enjoy the trails without purchasing an activity pass. If you need equipment (bike or helmet), simply purchase an AllSport, CoolSport or QuickSport Pass. The USNWC trails are open from dawn to dusk each day but may be inaccessible at times due to inclement weather, trail maintenance or scheduled events.
