We asked our 2013 Ramblin’ Rose participants, some as young as 10 and as old as 70, how they would inspire others to do their first Ramblin’ Rose triathlon. An overwhelming number of participants responded and many cited the simple Ramblin’ Rose mantra – YOU CAN DO THIS! Our events team produces the most supportive triathlon you will ever do, but don’t take it from us, listen to why our participants think YOU should do a Ramblin’ Rose Women’s Triathlon in 2014.

If you want to be a part of one of the most sensational things that you will ever do in life, then this is for you.

Nancy H. Barham, 57, Raleigh, NC

Fear is something that we all face daily. The fear that you cannot do a triathlon is a real fear to have, but this fear is something you must face one step at a time. You can train your body to do anything but this race is about YOU and what you can achieve mentally. Women are naturally born to be strong yet delicate, powerful but charming, but we also have the ability to nurture and transform anything, including ourselves!

If I could tell people one thing to motivate them, it’s that the numbers on the scale shouldn’t hold you back.

Kristina Blake, Mint Hill, NC

A Ramblin’ Rose triathlon is an excellent way for “non-athletes” to step up their game, set some reachable goals, and commit themselves to a training and practice regimen that will make them feel positive and robust no matter what the outcome of the competition – at any age.

Susan Stetson Renault (Sue), 70, Taylors, SC

At the end, I feel so excited and proud of myself for doing it. Don’t you want to feel that way, too?

Zoe Brader-Araje, 10, Chapel Hill, NC

Endurance Magazine hosts a triathlon seminar to answer any questions that aspiring triathletes have and how to prep for the race. As a first-timer it was so important for me to feel supported, prepared and uplifted and I feel that the seminar did just that.

Tamira Aliese Cousett, 27, Chapel Hill, NC

Training and the race help you bring your best forward. You can apply this to all areas in your life. It is also a great way to stay fit without taking up a lot of time.

Julia Brandon, 41, Durham, NC

Do it for fun with friends. It is important to push yourself, but the spirit that the race embodies and the bond that you will form with other athletes is the most rewarding part of it all.
