Human trafficking, or modern-day slavery, is real. It happens here in Charlotte. North Carolina is consistently among the top 10 states for trafficking in the United States. Human trafficking is the second-largest criminal industry in the world. Most can’t imagine the horror of a 12-year-old being sold, yet there are thousands of minors trapped in sex trafficking in the U.S. alone. All proceeds from this event go to organizations working to eradicate human trafficking in the Charlotte area and around the globe.
The 5K offers a total of $600 in cash prizes for the top 3 male and female winners! Join hundreds of runners and walkers for the 5K. After the race families can enjoy the Kid Zone with inflatables and face painting. Post-race participants can enjoy food and drinks from Coffee Central along with great music and prizes.
