Ride Strong / LiveStrong!

The third annual Velo4Yellow charity bike ride, scheduled for July 19, 2014, promises to be an exciting event, raising donations benefiting LiveStrong. Plan a full day to enjoy a 30-, 60- or 100-mile fully supported bike ride followed by post-ride festivities featuring live music and a buffet meal under tents on the lawn at the Carolina Ale House in Wake Forest, N.C. Building on the success of the 2012 and 2013 events, Velo4Yellow 2014 is sure to be a memorable occasion you won’t want to miss!

The Gyros Cycling Club sponsors Velo4Yellow, partnering with the Carolina Ale House. The event is a way the club can give back to the community, and with the prevalence of cancer in society, LiveStrong is a great choice of beneficiary. The club joined with the Carolina Ale House to get the event off the ground in 2012 with 300 riders participating, generating a $2,500 LiveStrong donation. In 2013, ridership grew to just under 400, yielding a $7,500 donation to LiveStrong.  The goal of Velo4Yellow 2014 is to sustain and grow both ridership and our contribution.

The Gyros’ philosophy is to provide a high-quality event generating tons of excitement while making the entire day fun! If being voted the Best Century Ride and Runner-Up Best Charity Ride by Endurance Magazine readers is any indication, the event is meeting that goal!

All three routes tour beautiful rural areas north of Raleigh and Wake Forest. With full SAG support and well-stocked hosted rest stops, the event is sure to satisfy. The vision is to grow Velo4Yellow into a premier annual community event by hosting a memorable day for all participants, creating an eagerness to return.

Join the excitement, join the fun and become part of the success of a terrific cycling event. Get all the details and register at www.velo4yellow.com. And remember … Ride Strong / LiveStrong!
