Walk Like MADD will take place on Saturday, Oct. 26, 2013, at Freedom Park in Charlotte. Participants will walk in honor of the more than 8,000 people injured, and in memory of the 413 killed, in North Carolina to drunk driving. Mecklenburg County had the highest rate of alcohol-related crashes in the state last year – 1,105 – which resulted in 977 injuries and 34 fatalities. This is 100 percent preventable.

Walk Like MADD is the signature fundraising event for MADD, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to stop drunk driving, support victims of this violent crime and prevent underage drinking. MADD needs your support to make this our strongest walk event yet. The success of this event enables MADD to provide free services to victims and survivors and funds statewide programs to eliminate drunk driving and prevent underage drinking. They can’t do it without you! Visit walklilkemadd.org/charlotte to develop a team, join a team, become a virtual walker or make a personal donation. For more information, call 800-248-6233.
