The Florence Forth road race, in its third year, has been selected by NC USATF to host the North Carolina 10K State Championships for men and women. Florence Forth is a benefit road race with all proceeds supporting the Autoimmune Encephalitis Alliance.

The 2015 Endurance Magazine-USATF North Carolina Long Distance Running Championship Series consists of nine races with the top individual and team finishers in each race scoring points towards the title of NC Long Distance Runner of the Year.

On March 7th, Florence Forth will kickoff off this year’s LDR series. To be eligible for placing in the Open, Masters or Team categories, you must be a full time 12 month resident of NC and a member of the USATF North Carolina Association.

Last year Tibor Vegh won the Florence Forth 10K in 32:08 with Jordan Zwick on his heels (both pictured above).  Kristina Vegh won the women’s 10K in 36:01.

The 10K race offers a total cash purse of $1,300 to individual and team winners. Additional details about the event including information on Elite Athlete status are available on the Florence Forth website or email Will McDow for elite athlete status.

Florence Forth is a benefit road race organized by runners Will and Leslie McDow in memory of their daughter Florence.  The 10K and accompanying 5K are USATF certified with race timing provided by Bull City Running Co.
