PrintJUST TRYAN IT is hosting its first kids triathlon in the Triangle area May 1, 2016 at the Chapel Hill Country Club. JUST TRYAN IT makes a significant difference in the lives of families battling childhood cancer by allowing them to focus more on the health of their children and less on the financial stresses that come with diagnosis. Serving families at Duke and UNC Children’s hospitals, JUST TRYAN IT funds pay for rent and mortgages, gas, groceries, tutoring, utilities, counseling, transportation, non-covered medical bills, and more.

The race consists of 3 courses of varying length and is open to 6-16 year olds of all abilities. Organizers aim to instill the importance of giving back to the community and foster empathy in the racers. JUST TRYAN IT truly models healthy kids helping sick kids. Triathletes have the opportunity to race in honor or memory of other children battling cancer or a loved one.

For a better understanding of the organization and their race, please check out this short video or visit our website. They are seeking corporate partners and are proud to have Spoonflower, Sports Endeavors, Chapel Hill Country Club and RPG – Solutions already engaged.

Founded in 2010 in Bethesda, MD, JUST TRYAN IT is named for a boy, Ryan, who was diagnosed with leukemia at age 6. Today, Ryan is healthy and in full remission. Over the past 6 years, we have raised over $750,000 to financially assist families battling childhood cancer.

Registration opens January 15th and is limited to 400 participants. For more information, please visit www.justtryanit.com
