The City of Concord Parks and Recreation Department’s 5 Alarm 5K will take place on Saturday, Nov. 2, at 9:30 a.m. in beautiful historic downtown Concord. The USATF-certified 5k will start and finish in downtown Concord on Means Avenue and will run through the McEachern Greenway and continue on the Downtown Connector Greenway to the finish.

The 5 Alarm 5K will also feature a children’s area complete with inflatables, a Fire and Life Safety House courtesy of the City of Concord Fire Department and an interactive DJ. The 5 Alarm 5K welcomes families to enjoy music, games for children, a one-mile fun run and of course the 5k. This event will be fun for all family members whether they are running in the race or cheering their favorite runner to cross the finish line.

Registration is available at www.concordparksandrec.org or in person at 147 Academy Ave. NW, Concord, NC 28026. All pre-registered runners will receive a goody bag and T-shirt. Pre-registration will close on Oct. 25. Race-day registration begins at 8 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 2. Goody bags and T-shirts are not guaranteed on race day.

The 1 Mile Fun Run kicks off at 9 a.m. and the 5 Alarm 5K begins at 9:30 a.m. Registration is required for the FREE 1 Mile Fun Run. The 5 Alarm 5K is $15 until Oct. 25 and $20 on race day.
