EVENT PREVIEW – The Kannapolis Race for Fetal Hope

Kannapolis, N.C. – Oct. 29

The Kannapolis Race for Fetal Hope is part of a national race series held each year in order to significantly diminish the number of babies – 200 each day – that die due to a fetal syndrome. These fundraising and awareness events give families and individuals a way to support others battling with fetal syndromes, while also contributing to groundbreaking research. Through its collective efforts, Fetal Hope has been able to support more than 15,000 families through its online forums and repository each year, and more than 1,000 families have been directly supported by its travel-grant program.

While each Race for Fetal Hope offers a traditional 5k walk/run, with a free kids’ fun run and a stroller division for those competing while pushing little ones, each race is unique to its community. The Kannapolis race route runs through historic downtown Kannapolis and along area greenways, and will offer some Halloween fun for 2011. The start/finish line is near the train in Village Park and registration is now open online (www.raceforfetalhope.com). BornFit tech T-shirts, bibs, timing chips and goody bags will be distributed at registration on race day.

As part of our new tradition and in celebration of Halloween, join our sponsors and vendors, along with special guests, mascots and many more, for fun, refreshments, prizes, activities, games and even trick-or-treating at one of the area’s best expos and kids’ festivals. Also, be sure to participate in the Halloween costume contest, which will be judged and awarded after the main 5K event. All proceeds benefit the Fetal Hope Foundation, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Thank you for considering being a part of our 2011 event!
