Community and Camaraderie in Carrboro

<

Le Tour de Carrboro is back in 2011 with bigger goals benefiting multiple community partners. Le Tour de Carrboro is a premier 3 race series sponsored by the Cardinal Track Club. Completely volunteer driven and managed, all monies raised by the Tour each year go to the Community Partners of the Club.  These are all Orange County charities whose mission serves the local community. The Community Partners in 2011 are ARC, the Optimist Club of Chapel Hill, Orange County Rape Crisis, Table, and the Orange Cardiovascular Foundation.

The Tour is made up of three races of varying lengths, all run within the City limits of Carrboro.  They are the Four on the Fourth (4 miles) on July 4th, the Carrboro 10K October 1st, and the Double B Gallop and Gorge (5 miles) Thanksgiving Day.  Each race has its own personality, due to the different times of year of each event, the holidays they are run on, and the attending interaction of the community.  Runners enjoy the incredible community support of friends, neighbors, families and children cheering along the course. The series also attracts a large out of town contingent brought along for the fun by locals running the events.

All runners that complete the three events win special Le Tour branded merchandise earning bragging rights for the accomplishment!

The Carrboro 10K won the 2010 Best 10K Race by the readers of Endurance Magazine and this year is the RRCA 10K Championship Race.
