Don’t miss the second annual Rock ’n’ Roll Raleigh Marathon & ½ Marathon presented by WRAL benefiting The Jimmy V Foundation on April 12, 2015. This high-energy event showcases the sights and sounds of Raleigh and is the perfect way to experience the city.
The 26.2-mile marathon and 13.1-mile half-marathon will line the streets with themed water stations, enthusiastic cheerleaders and live, local bands entertaining the runners all the way to the finish line. The event features a wide variety of music, from classic rock and punk to good old rock ’n’ roll. Runners and walkers alike will be moving and grooving to the beat of this community block party.

The musical course tour will start on South Salisbury Street and take participants to some of the best sites in Raleigh, like the Governor’s Mansion, Rose Garden, Oakwood neighborhood, Pullen Park and the iconic Daily Planet at the N.C. Museum of Natural Sciences as well as the North Carolina State campus. After finishing in downtown Raleigh on Fayetteville Street, runners will join friends and family for a post-race concert, beer garden, and finish line festival at the Red Hat Amphitheater.

Event weekend will begin with a free two-day Health & Fitness Expo at the Raleigh Convention Center, where all participants go to pick up their race number and technical T-shirt. The expo will feature dozens of running and fitness retailers, exhibits with free nutritional samples and a series of interactive clinics with running experts and pro athletes.
