If you’re interested in a little friendly competition, there is a fun, low-key climbing competition at the end of March in Chapel Hill.

The Dixie Rocks 25 at Chapel Hill Community Center takes place March 28 and 29. Climbing starts Friday at 6:30 p.m. and goes on till 10:30 p.m. Climbing resumes on Saturday at 10 a.m. and the competition wraps up at 8 p.m.

Join the town of Chapel Hill to celebrate and compete in the 25th anniversary of the longest-running indoor climbing competition in the USA. Dixie Rock was created in 1989 and will be revisiting that era to celebrate 25 years of this fun all-ages climbing event. Dixie Rock is geared toward a wide range of climbers, from beginner to advanced, and everything in between. You can even borrow shoes and a harness if you don’t have your own.

There will be three main climbing divisions, all offering winning prizes, as well as competitions for young kids and seniors. Whether competing or just enjoying the free entertainment, don your wildest spandex leggings from the ’80s or today and you could win a special prize!
