The fifth annual Palmetto Half-Marathon will be held April 11-12, 2014. It’s not just a race, but an event to strengthen and support the community. In addition to outstanding participation over the past four years, the event has donated more than $120,000 to local charities and ministries.
The out-and-back course takes runners through the rolling hills of northeast Columbia, including several beautiful residential neighborhoods. Water stations are positioned approximately every 2 miles along the course. There will be restroom facilities along the course as well as first-aid tents that will be located near mile 4 and mile 9.
At the finish line all half-marathon participants will be awarded a finisher’s medal and will enjoy food, drinks, music and awards, and visit with the sponsors and the health and fitness vendors. After the race, participants and their families can visit the local shops and restaurants at the Village at Sandhill.
