The Paws for Life 5K Road Race is for runners and walkers and the 1-mile dog walk is for dogs and walkers. There are no dogs allowed in 5k race. Your registration fee includes a race T-shirt and dog bandana (for dog walk participants only). Trophies will be awarded to the first-, second- and third-place finishers overall and the first-place finisher in each age category.

All participants will automatically be enrolled in a raffle to benefit Franklin County Humane Society. Additional tickets will be available for purchase the day of the event. The raffle drawing will immediately follow the race. Be sure to bring proof of current rabies vaccination for your dog; plastic bags for dog clean-up; your dog’s leash; and your dog!

The race will begin at the Wake Forest College Birthplace. For more information on the race route, visit our website, www.fchsnc.org. Dogs must have current proof of rabies vaccination at time of registration. A parent or guardian must accompany children under the age of 13. Dogs must be leashed at all times (six-foot leash or shorter; no flex leads, please). Only well-socialized dogs who get along with other dogs and people and are comfortable in a crowd are welcome at this event. The event director reserves the right to refuse any dog that may be dangerous or disruptive to the race. Aggressive or dangerous dogs will be asked to leave.

You are responsible for cleaning up after your dog. Please remember to walk at a moderate pace (consider the weather and age of your dog) and be courteous of your fellow walkers and runners.
