It’s time again to come race with us… Outer Banks Style as we “dive” right into 2018’s Outer Banks Triathlon on the beautiful land and seascapes of the quaint Roanoke Island in Eastern North Carolina!

This years event, taking place on September 15th and 16th, 2018 is going to be bigger and better than ever, and we have some surprises up our sleeve this year, so stay updated by visiting us at obxse.org for new announcments. If you’ve never participated in this event, It’s time to “TRI” the “Best Triathlon Venue on the East Coast”!

The Outer Banks Triathlon has something to offer every athlete at all levels of abilities! From the Olympic distance (1500 meters (0.93 mile) swim / 40km (25 mi) bike / 10 km (6.2 mi) run) to the Half distance (1900 meters (1.2 mile) swim / 90 kilometers (56 mi) bike / 21.1 km (13.1 mi) run) on Saturday, September 15th, 2018 to Sunday’s Sprint distance (750 meters (0.465 mile) swim / 20 kilometer (12.5 mi) bike / 5 km (3.1 mi) run) on September 16th, 2018.

Don’t want to participate in any one distance by yourself? Grab some friends and create your own relay team! Athletes can can form teams of three (3) and tackle the segment they’re strongest at!

Love to swim and bike but don’t really care for the run segment? Consider our AquaBike category! “Swim! Bike! Done!” Athletes can still choose either the Sprint, Olympic or Half distances!

Race weekend kicks off on Friday, September 14th with packet pick up and a talk from USAT official, Lisa Lambeth. A  Q&A session will begin for participants right after with both Lisa and Outer Banks Sporting Events Race Director, Jenny Ash. The weekend will wrap up with a post race celebration party!
