I grew up camping.  Family vacations always consisted of sleeping in a tent, rain or shine.  To me it's a wonderful way to relax, and admittedly a great way to remind myself what a great matress I have at home.

One thing I also like to do is break in "camping novices" and hopefully make them a believer in the fun and value of camping.

This weekend Steve, Joe, and I are headed down to Uwharrie National Forest to participate in the Uwharrie 20 mile Mountain Run!  It's February, currently it's raining, and we'll definitely need a good night of rest before we take this challenge on.  So logically Joe and I decided that camping out the night before this epic event would be the best thing to do.  Poor Steve wasn't so sure about this bold plan, but he has reluctantly agreed to put his life in the hands of an Eagle Scout and a former Marine.

Don't worry Tamara, we'll bring your husband back alive!
