CHARITY SLOTS AVAILABLE AT PACKET PICK-UP:
$65 for Wachovia Tar Heel 10 Miler ($20 going to UNC Lineberger Cancer Center)
$50 for Fleet Feet Sports 4+ Mile Run ($20 going to UNC Linerger Cancer Center)
Refunds & Transfer POLICIES:
All registration fees are non-refundable. Event registrations are non-transferable between individuals, events, or years. Runners will be able to change from the 10 miler to the 4+ mile run and visa versa. Do NOT change races without letting us know first! Please come prepared to pay the difference if upgrading to the 10 miler. No refunds will be provided if you are downgrading to the 4+ mile run.
PRE-RACE EXPO & REGISTRATION INFO:
When & Where:
The 2011 race expo will take place at The Franklin Hotel, Official Host Hotel of the Wachovia Tar Heel 10 Miler. [directions]
Hours: 11 AM-7 PM Thursday, April 7th & 11 AM-7 PM Friday, April 8th
;Expo Instructions:
1. You can enter the hotel lobby from W. Franklin St, which is the 1st floor. You can also enter the hotel via the covered steps located in the covered parking garage on the back of the hotel, which will put you on the 2nd floor.
2. Take the elevator up to the 3rd floor and pick up your race bib.
3. Next, take the elevator or stairs down to the 2nd floor where you will be able to pick up your t-shirt and enjoy the pre-race expo.
NOTE: You MAY pick up race bibs for friends/family. No ID required.
Race day packet pick-up will be available at Gate 2 of Kenan Stadium (on side of Stadium Drive) from 6:00-7:45 AM.
Late Registration & Changes:
Charity Slots available during packet pick-up hours until 7 PM on race day.
Participants may change races at packet pick-up. You will be asked to pay the difference with cash or check if upgrading to a longer or timed race. Refunds will not be provided if you are downgrading. Do not change races without letting us know!
T-Shirts
Every participant will receive a t-shirt. Shirts are ordered based on the sizes indicated at registration.
NO SWITCHING SIZES - NO EXCEPTIONS!

Race Day Packet Pick-Up:
6:00-7:45 AM by gate 2 of Kenan Stadium (accessible from Stadium Drive)
No late registration after 7 AM.
Note: You MUST let race officials know if you want to switch races!
Important Start Line Logistics:
/// 10 Milers: Please begin lining up behind the START line from 7:00-7:15 AM. Look for signage indicating your predicted pace and line up accordingly. Important pre-race announcements will be made at 7:20 AM and the race will start on time at 7:30 AM.
/// 4+ Milers: Your race starts at 8:00 AM. Runners participating in the 10 Miler will be coming down Stadium Drive a second time between 7:30 and 8:00 AM, so please be respectful by keeping Stadium Drive clear. Please STAY OFF Stadium Dr until you are told by race officials and volunteers to line up behind the start line. Any interference with 10 Miler runners may risk in disqualification.
Arrival Time:
Runners are encouraged to arrive early. The S-11 parking lots by the Dean Dome will be the designated event parking lot, which is a 10 minute walk from the start line. Race day packet pick-up & late registration will end promptly at 7:50 AM and the starting gun will go off at 7:30 AM for the 10 miler event and 8:00 AM for the 4+ Mile Run.

The S-11 parking lots by the Dean Dome will be the designated event parking lots for runners. There will be plenty of room for everyone to park there, so do not park anywhere else on campus as you may be towed. The walk from the S-11 lots to the start line is 10 minutes at most and volunteers will be available to assist you with directions.
Please note that Raleigh Rd between Country Club Rd and the intersection of 15-501 and Rt 54 will be closed from 7:00-10:00 AM on race day. Give yourself plenty of time to get to your destination if you are driving through Chapel Hill on race morning. Detour signage will be posted. Be sure to check the event website on race week for important race day detours!

Timing:
This event will be timed using the MyLaps Bib Tag System and your race bib will be your timing chip. Simply put your race bib on the front of your body and you are ready to go. There is no need to return your timing device when you are done.
Pancakes at 9:00 AM - Rams Head Plaza!
Once you cross the finish line, you’ll receive a medal and have access to Primo Water, GU Brew, Clif Bars, and more. Then, starting at 9:00 AM, be sure to join us for tasty post-race refreshments and hot pancakes courtesy of Nantucket Grill (link: http://www.nantucketcafeandgrill.com/) on the Rams Head Plaza by Starbucks (near corner of Ridge Rd & Stadium Dr). The award ceremony will take place at this same location at 10 AM.
Cheer Zones & Spectator Info:
Available for local residents (those that live within walking distance) in the following neighborhoods: Gimghoul, Greenwood Rd, & Laurel Hill.
The aid station on Fern Lane (mile marker 8/next to Fordham Blvd), sponsored by the YMCA and DSI Comedy Club will have a bounce house, music, and much more. All are welcome! [Download Cheer Zone Flyer]
Results & Awards:
Preliminary results will be posted near the finish line as soon as they become available. Official results will be posted on the event website within 24 hours of the race.
The award ceremony will take place at 10:00 AM on the Rams Head Plaza by Starbucks (near corner of Ridge Rd & Stadium Dr), where hot pancakes will be served starting at 9:00 AM. If you can’t be present, be sure to have someone pick it up for you. WE DO NOT SHIP AWARDS!
Laurel Hill Challenge Awards: All runners will receive a split for the Laurel Hill portion of the race course. We will be handing out special awards to the top 5 male and female winners of this unique contest.
Thanks to USA Track & Field North Carolina, the Wachovia Tar Heel 10 Miler will once again serve as the official host of the 10 mile state championships! Prize Money ($2000 total): Open Men & Women: 1st $400, 2nd $200, 3rd $100. Masters Men & Women: 1st $150, 2nd $100, 3rd $50. Award checks will be mailed post-race.

Top 3 male & female: overall, Masters, 12 & under, 13-18, 19-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65 and over.
No Race Day Bag Check!
Rules:
Safety is critical for all involved. UNC Public Safety Officials and the Chapel Hill Police Department will be managing traffic along the course. You will be required to STAY TO THE RIGHT of all road divider lanes and/or cones, or risk disqualification. Baby strollers will NOT be allowed. Minimum Pace: participants running at a 12:00/mile pace or slower are kindly asked to use sidewalks wherever possible.
Littering on the course will result in disqualification.
