The 2010 Wachovia Tar Heel 10 Miler will have a NEW & IMPROVED course! Best of all, runners will FINISH INSIDE KENAN STADIUM!
This unique 10-mile running event will showcase Chapel Hill from every angle. The race starts and finishes on the beautiful campus of the University of North Carolina and goes through downtown Chapel Hill as well as several gorgeous residential neighborhoods.

AID STATIONS:
There will be 3 aid stations along the entire course. The first aid station will be located on Glandon Drive in the Gimghoul residential area. Both 10 Miler and 4 Miler runners will have access to this aid station. The second aid station for the 10 Miler runners will be located just past mile marker 4 on South Graham Street in Downtown Chapel Hill. The third aid station for the 10 Miler runners will be located on South Road, which means you'll have a chance to fuel up and stay hydrated between mile 6 & 7 and just after mile marker 9.
All aid stations will serve Primo Water and Accelerade electrolyte replacement fluids. Accel Gels will be available at the South Road aid station for the 10 Miler runners between mile markers. 6 and 7. Portojons will be available on South Road.

IMPORTANT NEIGHBORHOOD & LOCAL TRAFFIC INFO:
Endurance Magazine would like to thank UNC and all of the residents and businesses that live, work, and play along the race course for their tremendous support. Race organizers, local law enforcement, public works officials, and volunteer course marshals will be dedicated to making this event an enjoyable experience for the entire community. Please reference the following information regarding traffic detours and runner impact between 7:30 AM and 9:30 AM on Saturday, April 10th.

| Runners will be passing through the Gimghoul residential area starting at approximately 7:36 AM and ending at approximately 8:10 AM. Impacted roads will include Gimghoul Road, Glandon Drive, and Evergreen Lane. Should you wish to exit the neighborhood, please use extreme caution and use official race course marshals to direct you out. | Runners will be passing through Downtown Chapel Hill via Cameron Ave (westbound), then Graham Street (northbound), then Franklin Street (eastbound) until Park Lane. The total time of impact will be from approximately 7:45 AM-8:35 AM. The eastbound lane of Franklin Street will be closed temporarily during this time frame. All eastbound traffic coming from Carrboro is advised to use Rosemary Street eastbound or Merritt Mill Road southbound. The westbound lanes of Franklin Street will remain open to traffic. All southbound and northbound traffic on Columbia Street will be detoured from approximately 7:45 AM-8:25 AM [detour map]. | Runners will be passing through the Battle Park residential area starting at approximately 7:55 AM and ending at approximately 8:45 AM. Impacted roads will include Park Lane, Boundary Street, Hooper Lane, Battle Lane, and Senlac Road Road. Please note that the southbound lane of Battle Lane will be closed to traffic during this time. No thru traffic will be allowed from East Franklin Street. Should you wish to exit, please do so via Park Lane toward East Franklin Street while using extreme caution and per the direction of official race course marshals. | Runners will be impacting Ridge Road, South Road, and Country Club at all times from 7:30-9:30 AM. The estimated window of time during which runners will be running on Laurel Hill Drive from Carmichael Street uphill to Country Club Road is 8:10-9:20 AM. The southbound (downhill) lane of Laurel Hill Drive towards Carmichael Street and 15-501 will remain open for the duration of the event. We kindly request that ALL residents use this designated route in the event that you wish to exit the Laurel Hill residential area. | [map] |
