Want to Ride 1 mph Faster?

Use aero bars.  One mile per hour is about how much faster an average cyclist will gain simply from using aero-bars.  Follow these tips to get the most out of your new setup.

Proper Position

First make sure your position is set up correctly for using aero bars.  See a professional bike fitter to help you set them up.

Practice

Take your time to get accustomed to riding in an aero position. Your bike will be a little more difficult to handle.

Learn Control

Think of steering from your elbows.  Keep a loose grip on the bars and steer from your elbows

Avoid Using Aero Bars on a Group Ride

When in the aero position your hands are away from your brakes and you wont be able to react as quick slow downs in the group.
