3/25/08: The Carrboro Farmers Market will have a presence at this year's Carrboro Classic! The ever-popular Stanley Hughes from the Pine Knot Farm will be selling his locally grown and organic veggies like mustard greens, winter squash, root veggies, sweet potatoes, and lots more. Leslie Heinzeman from Sari Sari Sweets will be bringing along oatmeal fig flaxseed treats, banana chocolate chip bread, apple turnovers, cheddar chipotle cornmeal biscuits, and other specialty treats. Both are notorious for selling out at the Saturday morning markets.
Please bring an appetite and some cash and join us in supporting local farmers at this year's Carrboro Classic Endurance Sports Festival.
2/13/08: USA Triathlon has announced that the Carrboro Classic Long Course Duathlon will be a Long Course Duathlon World Championships Qualifying event! The top 2 individuals in each age group qualify, rolling down to 5th place. [learn more]

EVENT DESCRIPTION:
The Carrboro Classic Endurance Sports Festival will have something for everyone!
It consists of three events, including the Long Course Duathlon, selected as a 2008 Long Course Duathlon World Championships Qualifying Event and the USA Triathlon Long Course Duathlon Mid-Atlantic Regional Championships!
This event takes place in and around the beautiful town of Carrboro, NC and benefits Habitat for Humanity of Durham as well as the Swim for Smiles Foundation.
The Carrboro Classic is an official USA Triathlon Sanctioned Event.
THREE EVENTS:
SUPER SPRINT DUATHLON (individual & relay)- 2.4 mi Run 12 mi Bike 1.2 mi Run
LONG COURSE DUATHLON (individual & relay) - 8K Run 53K Bike 8K Run

Carrboro Classic Long Course Duathlon selected as World Championships Qualifier!
DURHAM,N.C.–FEBRUARY 13, 2008–USA Triathlon just announced that the 2008 Carrboro Classic Long Course Duathlon Regional Championships, part of the Carrboro Classic Endurance Sports Festival held in Carrboro, NC, has been selected as one of only four long course duathlons in the country to offer Long Course Duathlon World Championships (Team USA) qualifying slots. The Long Course Duathlon World Championships will take place in Geel, Belgium on August 10.
Scheduled for April 6th 2008, the Carrboro Classic Endurance Sports Festival, produced by Endurance Magazine, will bring hundreds of high-caliber runner-cyclist athletes together from across the country to compete for these highly-sought-after qualifying slots. Bob Wendling, Vice-president, USAT-Mid-Atlantic Board of Directors described the Carrboro Classic as one that “met all of the requirements we look for in selecting a top-notch Championship venue.”

DURHAM,N.C.–JANUARY 15, 2007–USA Triathlon just announced that Carrboro, NC, home of the Carrboro Classic Endurance Sports Festival, will host the 2008 Mid-Atlantic region’s Long Course Duathlon Championships.
Scheduled for April 6th 2008, the Carrboro Classic Endurance Sports Festival, produced by Endurance Magazine, will bring hundreds of high-caliber runner-cyclist athletes together to compete for the regional championship title. Athletes will travel from West Virginia, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, the District of Columbia, and across North Carolina.
“There was intense competition in many categories,” stated Bob Wendling, Vice-president, USAT-Mid-Atlantic Board of Directors, “and the Carrboro Classic met all of the requirements we look for in selecting a top-notch Championship venue. We look forward to Endurance Magazine holding another stellar event for our USAT members.”
