The Morrison Family YMCA is hosting the 7th Annual Tri! Ballantyne on July 15th and Kids Tri! Ballantyne on July 16th. The YMCA recognizes the value of demonstrating healthy competition to all ages no matter where one might be on his or her fitness journey. This year when the event committee was faced with road construction challenges, they saw a great opportunity to create an event that opened the door for even more of the community to participate!

“We realized the potential to provide an indoor venue that will serve as a launching point for many multi-sport event beginners,” said Nicole Gross, Tri! Ballantyne event director. “This format not only gives beginners the opportunity to gain confidence with multi-sport events, it also allows seasoned athletes to utilize our event as a time trial benchmark to complement their race calendar. While we will miss the event that has historically been outdoors, the original Tri! Ballantyne venue is planned to return in July 2017!”

A fun, new addition to Kids Tri! Ballantyne is a “Preschool” age group category! Now preschool children ages 3-5 years will have the opportunity to participate in the Morrison Family YMCA’s first ever “for fun” multi-sport event with distances designed appropriately for their age level.

Tri! Ballantyne and Kids Tri! Ballantyne are just two of the many events that benefit the YMCA Annual Campaign. These events raise funds to support much needed programs within our community, such as after school care and summer camp for under-resourced children, teens and families. These programs help children engage in enriching, healthy and safe activities during out-of-school time hours and also allows teenagers to participate in programs supporting the growth and future of young adults in our community. By participating in this event, your generous contribution will go directly towards programs such as these; we thank you for your participation and generous support.
