Florence Forth 10K/5K is a road race for everyone.  On March 7th, walkers and beginning runners will toe the starting line along with some of the state’s fastest 10K runners.

This year the Florence Forth 10K hosts the USATF NC 10K Championship on a rolling, scenic course through Durham’s historic neighborhoods and business districts. The state’s fastest 10K runners will be competing for cash prizes and the title of “NC 10K Champion”.

Florence Forth is a community event.  The 5K is the culminating activity of the inaugural Congregational Wellness Challenge in which 7 local churches participate collectively in a 40-day wellness celebration.  In addition Florence Forth brings together more than 1000 community members including high school track clubs, youth groups, neighborhood associations and families.

Florence Forth is a benefit road race.  All proceeds support the Durham-based Autoimmune Encephalitis Alliance to speed diagnosis, improve treatment and find a cure for the disease that took Florence’s life when she was only 6 years old.  Autoimmune encephalitis patients and their families will travel from across the country to run and walk Florence Forth.

Florence Forth celebrates community – the autoimmune encephalitis community, the greater Durham community, the competitive running community.  Come join your community on March 7th in Durham.  We’ll Florence Forth together!
