Join the North Carolina Community Action Association (NCCAA) for the happiest, hippest, most happening 5k ever! Race participants, help commemorate the 50th anniversary of “The War on Poverty” and community action by dressing in 1960s-, ’70s-, or ’80s-appropriate gear. There will be a post-race “Decades Dance Party” and live judging at the finish line. Race participants, save your spare coins and bring your change containers to the race for the “Change 4 Change” pile-up. There will also be a change container decorating contest for individuals and teams. Fun prizes will be awarded.

The Race 4 ChangeTM 5K race will be held on Sunday, May 4, 2014, at NCSU Centennial Campus at 2:30 p.m. There will be a competitive running division as well as a non-competitive run/walk division. The race will fund innovative economic development initiatives to empower vulnerable and low-income citizens in North Carolina to achieve independence from public programs.
